What is Cyber Team Sim?
Cyber Team Sim is a multiplayer exercise in which you collaborate with your peers in realistic simulations of cybersecurity incidents to achieve a goal, demonstrating skills and knowledge in the area. You may compete with other groups in your organization, so do your best! It allows you to assess, build and prove the ability to effectively respond to threats.
How do I join an exercise?
To join an exercise, navigate to exercise in the main navigation menu, and then Cyber Team Sim.
Exercises assigned are listed in the assigned to me area, which will also display exercise start dates.
You can join and leave the exercise at any time within the start and end date. To do so, select the exercise, and then select the join exercise button. This'll appear once the exercise is live.
For a better experience, we recommend coordinating with the other members of your group so that you can collaborate effectively. Find your group members listed in the participants tab.
Before an exercise starts
Prepare for the exercise by reading the content found in the overview tab, before the exercise start date.
This will provide you with context on the scenario and skills required.
During an exercise: what am I measured on?
When participating in an exercise, you’ll be marked against:
- Completed tasks: the number of tasks completed.
- Accuracy: the accuracy of all answers submitted per task.
- Active time: this is a measure of time taken in-exercise. It starts when participants join the exercise and ends when they exit the exercise or when the exercise deadline is met.
This is measured as the total time that any participant (or multiple participants of the group) were connected to the exercise. If two participants are logged in at the same time (e.g., between 1pm and 2pm) then, this only counts the time of one participant (i.e., one hour in this example).
